This would never fly

There is a company here called Roach Foods.

My US readers know why I make this comment. I have yet to see a cockroach here, it's true. The restaurants that get cited 'round these parts usually have a mice infestation, or in some cases, rats. I don't know what folks would do if they saw one of our Texas flying roaches (called Palmetto bugs in the Deep South). And though the description says they don't fly much, they do it effectively - I've had enough of them fly at me to know.

I know about this company because I saw one of their trucks go by - a Roach coach, I guess (or would that be their employee shuttle?)

I lived in a flat in London once that had roaches- the nasty kind that are small and impossible to get rid of. Brits have heard of them but mostly it's too cold except in badly-run centrally-heated old public housing tower blocks.

Roach is however a quite well kinown last name, although I've no idea why. Many hundreds of years old, probably :)
